As the weather gets warmer, Nicobar’s collection looks right to the origin of the sun: we’re travelling to Japan. We’re thumbing through inspirations both old and new: from timeworn patching and weaving techniques that we’ve borrowed to make our own to infusing classic symbols of this fascinating culture with freshness, we’re letting our travels inspire a season’s worth of easy spring and summer living. Our Womenswear line is soaked in a palette of soft blue and white, dusty pinks and greys. Soft cotton is at the core of this collection, and you’ll find now-classic silhouettes that have been given new life in this fabric. Easy-wearing kimono shapes and Japan-inspired pleating techniques find their way onto billowing tops and ankle-skimming dresses that are perfect for long days, and even longer nights. Our favourite woven checks and easy stripes reappear, alongside embroidered hearts and flowers that lend little pops of colour to this line.We loved shooting this collection.
