Start your morning with a walk into Carnaby (with an umbrella, don’t ever forget your umbrella), and stop by Patisserie Valerie (wherever you are, you’ll find one close by) to energise yourself. Order yourself the Eggs Benedict, they’re the absolute best in town. Head over to a patch of green wherever you spot one, London’s parks are the city’s best kept secrets. Situated in the middle of the concrete jungle are lush vast spaces of green, that serve as bubbles of fresh air, and sweet escapes from the fast paced sidewalks and tube lines of the city. Hyde park is the largest and most popular, with soft serves at every corner and a lake to go paddle boating in, but our favourite is the rose garden in Regent's’ Park, probably the best smelling spot in all of London and one that’ll transport you straight to another era. Feed the ducks, read a chapter, reflect, whatever you fancy. You’re probably famished by now (or not, you’ll still want to try this), so take a walk to into Soho, the heart of the city, and meander through tattoo parlours, old British pubs, Asian food joints and art supply stores, all the way to The Breakfast Club (there is nothing better than all day breakfast). Now treat yourself to the best darn Avocado toast you’re ever going to have. We promise you, the hype is worth it. Once you demolish that (which you will, in precisely 3 and a half minutes), take the central line to Notting Hill and stroll through portobello road market, take some insta-worthy snaps of the colourful streets and munch on a warm deli sandwich.
Find yourself a Boris bike and pedal your way to to Fitzrovia, to sip some gin and tonic from a tea cup with a side of a cucumber finger sandwich at Bourne and Hollingsworth, a basement bar that looks like your grandmother's house, if your grandmother had floral walls, mismatched chairs and served you colonial iced tea in teapots.
Supper at Le Relais De Venise (Marylebone or Soho, take your pick), a Parisian cafe with only three things on the menu; rare, medium and well done. French fries and steak frites in a secret sauce that will have you coming back, every time. Be prepared to stand in a queue, but leave extremely satisfied.
Make sure you check out what’s happening at Secret Cinema, a 360 degree immersive world of theatre, and grab tickets for the next event.
