The details

Turn around: one zardozi flower

A shirt collar and three-quarter kaftan sleeves, wide enough to stay cool on warm evenings. The hem dips longer at the back. Grey shell buttons run along the placket, collar and cuffs, a quiet contrast against the green.

A single zardozi flower sits in the moon patch at the centre back.

Craftsmanship

Cotton silk, in deep emerald

It begins with the cloth: 85% cotton and 15% silk, with an easy, fluid drape. The colour is left clean, so the cut and the cloth do the work. At the back, the flower is worked in zardozi, the one ornament on the whole piece.
