The details

Look for it: one gold jali flower

Fitted through the bodice, then it lets go: a long flare that opens into a full ghera. Triangle gota edges the U-neckline, front and back, and both armholes. A concealed zip at the centre back and gunmetal snaps at the shoulders keep the line clean.

One antique gold jali flower sequin sits on the bodice, small enough to miss from across the room.

Craftsmanship

Yarn-dyed cotton, antique gota

It begins with the yarn: 100% cotton, dyed before it is woven, so the tiny lime and purple checks run through the cloth. It feels crisp and easy, and the lower half of the ghera is crinkled, so it moves when you do. Antique gota finishes the hem, catching the light at every turn.
