The details

Look close: a sequin flower in the placket

A mandarin collar and full batwing sleeves, on a loose shape that falls to mid-length. A silver sequin flower peeks out from beneath the placket, between the second and third buttons. Grey shell buttons are stitched on with fuchsia thread.

An aqua star is embroidered on the back yoke.

Craftsmanship

Metallic tissue, stripes that turn

It begins with the cloth: metallic tissue, 74% metallised fibre and 26% cotton, fluid and lightweight, in fuchsia and green pin stripes. The stripes run down the front, sleeves and lower back, then turn sideways across the back yoke. Small touches of embroidery and sequin work catch the light as you move.

  • The stripes shift direction across the tunic, with vertical stripes through the front, sleeves and lower back, and horizontal stripes across the back yoke for a subtle change in rhythm.
